Characterization and identification of flavonoids from Bambusa chungii leaves extract by UPLC-ESI-Q-TOF-MS/MS

Abstract Bamboo leaves extract (BLE) has a variety of physiological functions such as antitumour, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and blood fat reduction activities the flavonoids bamboo are major active constituents. To profile in complex BLE, rapid sensitive analytical method based on ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with electrospray ionization quadrupole time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-ESI-Q-TOF-MS/MS) was developed for structural identification Bambusa chungii using accurate measurements characteristic fragmentation patterns. After separation an Agilent SB-C18 Rapid Resolution High Definition (RRHD) column (2.1 mm × 150 mm, 1.8 ?m) by gradient elution 0.1% formic acid aqueous solution acetonitrile mobile phase, sample analysed ESI-QTOF-MS/MS negative mode. A total 22 were detected, eight these identified comparison reference standards, while other fourteen tentatively according to their MS/MS data. The main pathways flavonoid C -glycosides (compounds 1, 5 10), di- C,O (compound 4), 7) -di-glycosides 2 14) shown this article. This is first report analysis B. leaves. present work demonstrates that UPLC-ESI-Q-TOF-MS/MS efficient technique identifying multiple BLE.
